Today we are exploring Nanyuki town. Nanyuki is a market town located in the heart of Laikipia County lying northwest of Mount Kenya.
Nanyuki is 147 Km from Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, some 91 miles.
It may be considered a quiet town but the number of tourists flocking that area is unbelievable. it is also known to host a number of white people due to the US training camp that is located in the area.
While there, just some 2-3 miles is Thompson falls, a thundering and tall waterfall located in a lush tropical forest. If you need a good workout, you can take the narrow path down to the base of the forest.
Nanyuki also stands at a central place to view the mighty Mt. Kenya where thousands of tourists have flocked to hike the great mountain.
one place that has stood out in Nayuki is the Kongoni camp. While around the area, you get to visit several tourist attractions such as the Aberdare National Park, Mount Kenya, The Equator, Bird watching among other attractions. The quiet serene inside the camp will blow you away as you get to experience nature at its best.

There are other budget friendly accommodation facilities such as the private cottages in town or you can also opt to go camping. Kongoni camp, located some 2KM from Nanyuki town offers affordable camping grounds.
